HDR is currently in need of a Sr. Electrical Engineer to work as a member of our Architecture office in Alexandria, VA. Their duties will include coordination of work on healthcare facility oriented projects of the electrical design team through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project. They will also establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance, and be responsible for coordinating workload to complete documents on schedule. Other duties will include: conducting work sessions at the project site, reviewing electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines, writing/editing electrical specifications, selecting equipment/systems/devices, coordinating (with affected disciplines) any addendum, requests for information, change proposal requests and change orders and incorporating agreed upon changes into the project documents. They may also provide, on an as needed basis, construction contract administration and conduct QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators or Technicians.

BS in Electrical Engineering (or Architectural Engineering with Electrical emphasis) required.

PE required.

5+ yrs experience preferred in electrical design of buildings(lighting/power/systems); specific experience with healthcare oriented facilities is a must.

Strong computer skills AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and electrical design software.

Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired.

Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required.
