The primary duty of the Director Environmental Services for the Transportation Business Group is to provide strategic focus on positioning HDR as a preferred service provider in the area of environmental planning and compliance for transportation infrastructure development. More specific duties include keeping an inventory of and developing HDRs global environmental capabilities; with the ultimate goal of servicing the environmental needs of the Transportation Business Group. This person will serve as a the focal point for the Transportation Business Group to deliver necessary environmental services and create alliances within the Business Group and across the Environmental Services Business Classes to assure the most efficient environmental compliance process is being delivered for the Transportation clients of HDR. Additional duties include internal and external client relationship management, recruiting and staff development, major pursuit coordination, business class technical leadership and best practice development. This position will work close with the other Business Class Directors and Regional Transportation Directors on delivery of existing projects and developing long-term tactical plans to best serve the environmental needs of the Transportation program. This position also encompasses leading capture planning efforts, preproposal visitations, proposal preparation coordination with technical staff, presentations and negotiations, and principal level program/project management.
