The primary duties of the Environmental Scientist II include collecting project related data which may include research, conducting surveys for listed species, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, land use, etc. Assimilates and manages data. Prepares constraints mapping. Defines the level of environmental analysis required. Conducts environmental impact assessments. Performs complex assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods. Assists in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings. Assists public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition and compliance. Works independently on medium sized projects or assists more senior scientists on larger projects.
