Position Description
The primary duties of the Water Resources Business Class Manager (BCM) include responsibility for the operations of the Water Resources production team including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support. Services provided by the Water Resources Business Class may include hydraulics and hydrology for water resources planning and design studies, water quality studies and planning, storm water and transportation drainage, floodplain and flood control engineering, preparation of drainage reports, storm drain plan and profile drawings, specifications for drainage facilities, watershed management studies and plans, water rights projects, FEMA flood mapping, and river/stream restoration.
The Water Resources BCM will function as a project manager and will be expected to work on projects in addition to the operational responsibilities.
This individual will also be administratively responsible for the business class staff and technical service staff and will lead or coordinate services with other business classes and business groups as necessary. The BCM will be involved in marketing planning, proposals and client interviews. This person will also be directly involved with industrial and public clients in marketing, project production and related issues. The BCM will track the financial aspects of projects and of the business class and will coordinate to ensure that all work is completed within parameters of the agreed schedules or budgets. The BCM will work with the Business Group Leader and Accounting Manager to complete project and management reviews as required.
The preferred candidate will possess experience in the management and mentorship of staff.
He or she will also have experience in managing multiple projects from beginning to end including client relations, schedule and financial management and quality control.
Bachelors degree in a related field.
Professional registration or license in NM.
10+ years management experience.
Strong communication and listening skills.
Ability to handle multiple assignments.
Good leadership and organizational skills.
