Operations Support Manager (Electrical)
Position Description

The Operations Support Manager (Electrical) is responsible for managing and supporting control, electrical, instrument, information management and automation systems of plant equipment, primarily transformers, high voltage breakers, generators, relays and protective systems. 

Essential Job Functions:
•    Managing the implementation of O&M activities at new plants and monitor the instrument, control, maintenance programs of electrical equipment at each of Tenaska plants
•    Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and identifying areas of improvement for each plant including reliability, availability, and energy efficiency
•    Responsible for interfacing with various levels of management and plant staff positions to set priorities, identify potential areas of improvement, and facilitate technical skills improvement throughout the organization
•    Provide operations, maintenance, and engineering support for the various facilities as needed
•    Implement long range planning for fleet electrical equipment with regard to maintenance, performance optimization initiatives, evaluation of emerging technologies, and assessment of the technical and economic feasibility of projects in support of business objectives
•    Review and standardize electrical maintenance practices across fleet of plants 
•    Provide support to plants in diagnosing problems and improving performance of electrical equipment, control, and protective systems to minimize costs, maximize capacity, and improve efficiency
•    Develop and facilitate continuous process improvement techniques and methodologies throughout Tenaska to achieve operational efficiencies and demonstrate measurable, sustainable results
•    Monitor electrical equipment maintenance activities to assure that “Best In Class” maintenance techniques are implemented
•    Coordinate with Asset Management department to resolve issues surrounding the PPAs and power customers at each site
•    Complete special projects as required by the Vice President of Operations
•    Reliable, predictable and dependable attendance is a requirement.

Education/Experience/Skills:

•    BS in electrical engineering
•    Ten (10) or more years of experience in the maintenance and operations high voltage electrical equipment 
•    Demonstrated skills in high voltage electrical operations, maintenance, control, and protective systems 
•    History of development of innovative and creative problem solving approaches to improving various aspects of facility performance
•    Must have strong leadership, motivational, and communication (oral and written) skills.
